District N-3 serves the province of Western Newfoundland Labrador. This large unique geographical area has 38 Lions Clubs and 912 members.

Lion Bill was in the education profession for 31 years before retiring in June 2004. During his career Bill was active in many areas of school life as well as active with the local Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association, serving as Teacher Liaison with the school board and branch treasurer for many years.
Bill’s community activity has included being Chair of the Harmon Tenant’s Association, President of the Caribou Curling Club and a founding member of Stephenville Come Home Year Committee.
Bill was King Lion of the Stephenville Lions Club for two years and has also been Region Chair. Since 2007- 2008 Bill has served as Vice-District Governor of Lions District N-3 twice, District Governor of Lions District N-3, western and northern section of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and Council Secretary Treasures for the Lions clubs of Multiple District N.
Bill formed the Stephenville Lions Club Disaster Relief Fund. Bill served on the Board of Directors of Lion Max Simms Camp for special needs persons of Newfoundland and Labrador for 2008-2009 and 2010-2011. He was the President of the Bay St. George Sick Children’s Foundation for two years from 2007 to 2009. In 2008 the Town of Stephenville named Bill Citizen of the Year for his community service.
Since his retirement, Bill has taken courses at the College of the North Atlantic in e-learning courseware development, film-video production and journalism.He is also an avid skier and golfer.
Bill met his wife, Linda, while attending university. They both enjoy travelling and have travelled extensively through North America, Europe and Asia.
