DG George joined Lionism in 1996 when he was inducted into the Rexton Lions Club. He has received the 100% Attendance Award ever since and has sat on his club’s Board of Directors since 1997. He has served two terms as President, three as Treasurer and another as Acting Secretary. Having chaired numerous committees, the one in which he is most proud of is the Lions Foundation of Canada Walk for Dog Guides. Having Co-chaired the walk with his wife Leigh Ann for the past eight years, raising over $33,000 for the foundation. At the district level, District Governer George has served as Zone Chairman, Children’s Activities Chairman, Treasurer’s School Presenter, and as a Group Coordinator for CSFII. He is very honored to have the opportunity to serve as District Governer. District Governer George has been honored to receive his club’s Lion of the Year Award, the district’s Best Zone Chairperson Award, an International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation, Two International Leadership Certificates, Guiding Lion Certificate, International President’s Commendation and a District Governors Special Certificate of Appreciation. He is also a Life Member of the Lions Foundation of Canada. District Governer George has also served his community by sitting on the Board of Directors of his local Chamber of Commerce, the Richibucto River Association and the Community Access Centre. He has also coached minor hockey and baseball. District Governer George is married to his lovely wife Leigh Ann and they have two wonderful sons, Michael, 10 and Jeffrey, 8. |

A member of the Pasadena Lions Club since 1975, he has held most officer andexecutive positions. He also served as Zone and Regional Chair, District Membership and Long Range Planning Chairs and has been an active member of the Multiple District Long Range Planning Committee. Lion Frank also served two terms as District CST and 8 years on the Board of the Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp Foundation. In recognition of his service to Lions DG Frank has received many Club and District awards including International President’s Certificates of Appreciation and is a graduate of the Lions Faculty Development Leadership Institute. He is a life member of the Lions Foundation of Canada and is a Melvin Jones Fellow. Lion Frank lived in Pasadena all his life and served the town as mayor from 1985-94. Since retiring from the computer department at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper in 2003, Frank likes to use his spare time to garden, snowmobile and travel. In addition to his involvement with Lions he is also treasurer of his Church. Frank and his wife Shirley have two children Brian and Beverly Ann |
